Personal Biography
I grew up just an hour and a half east of the triad in a town called Hillsborough, North Carolina! I knew I wanted to be a Physician Assistant (PA) in the sixth grade, where I realized my love for both practically helping others and science. While this dream wavered once or twice over the years, I graduated from North Carolina State University with aspirations to continue on to PA school after spending some time working in the medical field.
Shortly after graduation from NC State, I married my husband, Mathias, and moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina. There I worked at a local urgent care and then as a medical scribe right here at Twin City Pediatrics! This experience, as well as years of babysitting, volunteering with various children and adolescent ministries, summer camps, and working at a preschool, created a passion in me for working with the pediatric population that is undeniable. This passion only grew while attending PA School at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. I love that primary care providers get to practice continuity of care so that I can get to know my patients and their families. I aim to be a listener, advocate, teacher, and friend to those that need it.
For fun, my husband and I enjoy running, hiking, rock climbing, cooking (and eating), reading, and spending time with friends and family. Our two pups, Archie and Zion, keep us outside and constantly on our toes! We love our Winston-Salem community and I look forward to partnering with families to promote healthy lifestyles that help children grow to reach their greatest potential.
